As photographer’s we have our “sweet spot” of what age we prefer to do newborn sessions. For me, I really prefer 10-21 days.  With that being said, I have not turned away mothers who have not had a chance to get baby in at that age.   Sometimes baby may be really tiny at birth or have an extended stay at the hospital, and sometimes parents just haven’t settled in there routine and times gets away from them.  I would not turn a parent away just because baby is a little older. While this can make my job quite a bit more challenging, if parents are willing to spend extra time (possibly) waiting baby out, so am I.   I am so glad we did!!! I don’t know if I’m just super STUBBORN, or extremely PATIENT, lol, or if maybe those two traits are all wrapped up in each other, but we did it, and had a great time doing so.

I was able to get so many newborn poses with this gorgeous 8 week old baby.  She also had amazing eye contact when she was awake.
