I met little Ethan last year when he was a newborn. We had a session scheduled when his health took a rapid decline. His mom messaged me with words no parent should have to use, ever. She told me that her precious little boy was going to heaven soon. My heart broke with her! I couldn’t imagine what she was going through, but God gave me glimpses into her world. Along with his mother, I requested prayer for Ethan. We all prayed and prayed and prayed! We stayed in touch and a week later she told me that he had defied all odds and his little body had rallied and willed himself back to health after doctors had given no hope and removed him from machines. He showed progress bit by bit. He defied the odds.

Her amazing mothering instincts had saved his life. Through many hospitals and doctors, they have found that Ethan has a rare form of epilepsy. His seizures can cause huge setbacks (and have) and he has regained milestones each time, slowly but surely. As you can see, he is a vibrant beautiful boy. He has the most amazing eye contact of any one-year-old I have met. Pray with me that as he grows, he will continue to develop and blossom into all that God has for him. His mommy and daddy can’t wait to hear him speak. Pray with them that he finds his voice and that he has an easier transition to weaning from one of his seizure medications. He is a true miracle!
