Milestone sessions, especially the tummy time milestone, are often a chance to get first portraits when baby or mommy was unable to get newborn photos.  Whether due to illness, time, or exhaustion, sometimes that cannot be helped.  The tummy time session still captures babies in a time when they are very small, typically in the 3rd or 4th month.

I met Evie for the first time at her milestone tummy time session. She was a pure delight. She gave us so many more grins and smiles than Mommy and I realized. Many babies smile very rarely for strangers at this age, so having a calm and confident photographer is key. During tummy time sessions babies are placed on their tummy as well as their back. We alternate so that their developing muscles have a chance to take a break.
